About Dr. Matthew Carrera

Dr. Matthew Carrera earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Providence College and a Doctor of Chiropractic from the University of Bridgeport’s College of Chiropractic. He also specializes in Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP), utilizing both physics and engineering methods and techniques to restructure the spine and take pressure off irritated nerves.

He is a licensed physiotherapist, specializing in Sports Traumatology, and has used this specialty in the area of professional sports. While pursuing his doctorate, Dr. Carrera completed his thesis, Conservative Management of Shoulder Impingement Syndrome in the Professional Baseball Pitcher, describing breakthrough information used in the diagnosis and treatment of a common (and easily reversible) sports shoulder injury.

In 2002 and 2003, Dr. Carrera again utilized this expertise in athletic therapy while serving as the competition chiropractic physician at the National Tae-Kwon-Do Championships in Fairfield, CT. He continues to broaden his knowledge of the human body and its neurological connections through peer-reviewed articles and case studies, with the realization that the learning process never truly does end.

Dr. Carrera joined the Spinal Health and Rehab team in 2004, treating many patients, from infants and toddlers to the elderly and expectant mothers, in an effort to create a community free of unwanted health problems. About Dr. Brian Sullivan

Dr. Brian Sullivan has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Massachusetts and a Doctor of Chiropractic from the chiropractic college that founded the profession, Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. He continues his academic training and education with various institutions, including the Spine Research Institute of San Diego, and in areas such as diagnostic testing, sports injury rehabilitation, and chiropractic pediatrics. In 2004, his involvement with the aid program Clinic Abroad took him to the Fijian islands of Vanua Levu and Viti Levu. Fiji is one of the poverty-stricken nations that Clinic Abroad works with by providing care and aid. Dr Sullivan set up free chiropractic clinics in mountain villages and busy cities; in schools, churches, and under tents.

Between undergraduate and graduate degrees, Dr. Sullivan spent two years in research with the National Biological Service and U.S. Geological Survey. He was inspired to become a Doctor of Chiropractic by a doctor who had helped him as a young man. Today, Dr. Sullivan takes care of families, children, and the elderly. His technical expertise revolves around principles of physics and engineering and using those principles to restructure the spine and take pressure off the irritated nerves.

Brian Sullivan, DC resides in Providence and joined the Spinal Health and Rehab Center in 2005. He seeks to provide his community with exceptional natural healthcare through chiropractic.
